(and don’t miss the Indoor Waterpark in Atlantic City!)
When it comes to family-friendly restaurants in Atlantic City, there are many great options to choose from. Many restaurants offer kid-friendly menus, with options like chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and pizza.

Best Atlantic City Restaurant for Kids
My top pick….is TopGolf. Yes, really!
I’m surprised too. But, the boys saw it, wanted to try it, and we liked it.

Here’s what I loved: the views, the prices were decent and they had something to do but it wasn’t too much, too “extra.” It was pretty quiet in there, which I loved. There is noise absolutely everywhere you go in Atlantic City, and sometimes you need a break.
It is $60 an hour to rent the suite if that’s what you want to do. But, they also had a putting green, corn hole and a few other activities in the area if you don’t rent a suite.
Booking.comThe food is fine. It’s a fair price and not over the top. The service was good and fast.
The downside is that if you rent a suite, you essentially are eating at like a coffee table (see photos of the boys golfing) or holding your plate on your lap.
This may not work well for all kids and adults with various abilities.

Atlantic City: 5 Disappointing Dining Experiences
Let me tell you what disappointed us, and why. Everyone’s experience may be different, but this is an honest review of our trip.
- Landshark: Food was mediocre, drinks were expensive and it was crazy noisy.
- Breakfast Buffet inside Showboat: Not worth the price unless you have huge eaters. Toaster didn’t work and the bagels were crazy cold.
- James candy store: All I wanted was a small souvenir and some iconic salt water taffy. Their taffy all tastes the same, and the kid who waited on us was high as a kite. Shoulda stuck to Fralingers. I acknowledge that a candy store is not a restaurant, still it’s something you eat.
- Dunkin Donuts: Just needed something quick before we hit the road on our trip home. It’s inside the casino floor, which is weird by itself. And then the donuts were stale. It’s Atlantic City in August, how do you manage to have stale donuts?
- The “indoor boardwalk” inside the Atlantic City Indoor Waterpark: Really expensive because they have a captive audience. I paid $14 for “loaded fries” which was basically a serving of mediocre french fries and a side of orange waxy something that was supposed to be cheese. The boys got pizza and they said it was “fine.” Glass of Seaglass wine was $18.
Best Places to Eat with Kids in Atlantic City
If I had to narrow it down, these would be my choices.
- TopGolf: Reasons listed above.
- Wahlburgers: Food is much better than TopGolf. If not for the noise and the lack of activities for kids, it would be my top choice. But, since so many of my readers have an autistic family member, I have to go with the quiet option for the top pick.
- Boardwalk: If you do a boardwalk outing, people can eat what they want, when they want. And some of the spots even have tables and chairs which is unusual for a boardwalk, in my opinion. The main downside here is the seagulls.
Family-Friendly Restaurants in Atlantic City
When traveling with kids, finding a family-friendly restaurant is crucial. Luckily, Atlantic City has plenty of options to choose from.
Here are some of the best family-friendly restaurants in Atlantic City, divided into casual and fine dining options.
Casual Dining Options
Gilchrist Restaurant is a great option for families looking for a casual breakfast or lunch. This American restaurant is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, and their menu includes classic dishes like pancakes, omelets, and sandwiches.
Plus, their prices are very reasonable, making it a great spot for families on a budget.
Landshark: We felt very “meh” about Landshark. I chose it because online, it looked like you could sit and look out over the ocean. It was our first night there, so yeah, I wanted to look at the ocean.
We asked the hostess for outside seating, and she sat us at a table on the deck, right next to the entrance to the indoor part. (so essentially, the most indoor an outdoor table could be)
I thought about asking to move, then I saw the people on the outer part being annoyed by seagulls, so I didn’t. I get it–Seagulls are a part of eating at the beach and not something they can always control.
But, it was terribly noisy. Our food wasn’t that great. Brian ordered the barbecue burger and it didn’t have any barbecue sauce on it. He got one the next night for redemption….which brings me to…

Wahlburgers. We really liked Wahlburgers. It’s inside of the Ocean Resort, which was right next door to where were were staying.
Food was good, fair priced. TONS of families with kids in there. It was terribly noisy–if you have a sensory kiddo, know this!
Brian ordered a barbecue burger, again! But, he had been craving a good one, and he got it at Wahlburgers.
Downside–Feeling old when I’m explaining to two 14-year-olds who the Wahlburgs are, and they give you blank stares.

Budget friendly restaurants in Atlantic City is kind of an oxymoron.
It’s a vacation spot. So, prices are higher. They just are. That being said, I fed 3 people at Wahlburgers for what it cost us for one person at the Bobby Flay steakhouse. It just depends what you’re looking for.
Know that if parents want even one drink or a glass of wine, most menus I saw had it at $14-$18. Yes, for one glass of mediocre rack wine (Seaglass). I’m happy to just skip it altogether. You may want to have a drink in your hotel prior to leaving for dinner (assuming you’re walking or taking the tram). For two parents, that will easily save you $30 off your dinner bill.
I did try to splurge, twice. With fruity-vacation-esque type drinks. One at Landshark and one at the Showboat. Both were over $10 and a huge disappointment. Both were served to me in a plastic cup. Seriously?

Atlantic City has several budget-friendly restaurants that are perfect for families with kids. White House Sub Shop, Gilchrist Restaurant, and EastWind are some of the best options for families on a budget. These restaurants offer affordable dishes that are both tasty and filling.
Final notes: I had two 14-year-olds with me. Neither is an adventurous eater, and neither has food allergies. Other than TopGolf, all the other options were very noisy. All options were wheelchair accessible.
