5 Times Linda McMahon Lied About Schools Secretly “Transitioning” Kids

Linda McMahon lied about schools and transgender students again. And at this point, I’m done pretending this is just sloppy wording.

On August 24, McMahon said: “After the Biden administration allowed schools to secretly transition students without parents’ knowledge, President Trump is defending parental rights like never before.”

Linda mcmahon speaking at a formal event with a serious expression.
We cannot accept the lying as normal. It’s not.

Schools secretly transitioning students? No. Schools are not secretly medically transitioning children.

They are not prescribing hormones. They are not performing gender-affirming surgery. Teachers are not administering puberty blockers. Guidance counselors are not secretly arranging medical transitions behind parents’ backs.

That’s not how medical transition works.

And Linda McMahon is the United States Secretary of Education. She has access to an entire federal department, attorneys, policy experts and staff.

She knows what schools do. She also knows what schools cannot do. Yet she keeps repeating this lie.

March 2025: The “Secret Transition” Lie Takes Shape

In March 2025, McMahon’s Department of Education began publicly attacking schools over transgender students and parental notification.

And rather than accurately describing what could actually happen inside a school, the administration began using language about schools hiding students’ “transitions” from parents.

That’s where the word game begins. Because calling a student by another name is not a medical transition.

Using different pronouns is not a medical transition. Changing clothes or hairstyle is not a medical transition. None of those things involves medical treatment.

But “your child’s teacher used a different pronoun” doesn’t generate quite the same panic as “schools are secretly transitioning your children.”

January 2026: McMahon Keeps the Lie Going

By January 2026, McMahon was again accusing schools of secretly facilitating students’ transitions without their parents knowing.

Again, schools cannot secretly medically transition children. There’s no secret stash of hormones or teachers prescribing puberty blockers. There were no surgeries happening at school.

But the word “transition” remained. That’s not an insignificant wording choice when you’re the Secretary of Education talking to millions of American parents.

July 2026: The Lie Becomes an Official Department of Education Headline

Then the rhetoric became official federal messaging.

In July, McMahon’s Department of Education published a press release describing a Trump administration crackdown on school districts secretly “transitioning” students and hiding it from parents.

Read that again.

The United States Department of Education used the phrase “secretly transitioning students.”

This wasn’t a Facebook meme or a confused parent at a school board meeting. It wasn’t somebody’s uncle sharing a post he didn’t read.

It was the federal Department of Education.

July 30, 2026: McMahon Says It Again

A few days later, McMahon repeated it. She referred to reports of schools secretly “transitioning” students without parental knowledge or consent.

Again.

By now, we’re well beyond one poorly worded statement.

McMahon has repeatedly chosen language that tells parents schools are doing something to their children’s gender behind their backs.

And she keeps using a word that encompasses actual medical treatment while neglecting to explain that schools aren’t providing that medical treatment.

August 24, 2026: And Here We Are Again

McMahon did it again: “After the Biden administration allowed schools to secretly transition students without parents’ knowledge, President Trump is defending parental rights like never before.”

Enough.

If you’re going to tell American parents that schools are secretly “transitioning” their children, then show us the schools secretly providing medical transitions.

Show us the teachers prescribing hormones.

Show us the school counselors administering puberty blockers.

Show us the principals authorizing gender-affirming surgeries.

Show us the school districts operating clandestine pediatric gender clinics.

They can’t. Because that’s not what’s happening.

Here’s What It Actually Takes to Medically Transition

This is the part that gets conveniently left out when politicians tell parents their children are being “transitioned” at school.

Medical transition is medical care. Puberty blockers are prescription medications.

Gender-affirming hormone therapy involves prescription medication and medical monitoring.

Surgery is surgery.

These things require health-care providers, medical evaluation and treatment.

They create medical records. For minors, hormonal or surgical transition also requires parental or guardian permission in most places in the United States.

Your child’s teacher cannot prescribe testosterone and a guidance counselor cannot prescribe estrogen. A principal cannot perform surgery.

A school nurse cannot simply decide to begin a child’s medical gender transition.

This shouldn’t require explanation.

And yet the United States Secretary of Education keeps telling parents that schools are secretly “transitioning” children.

Social Transition Is Not Medical Transition

Here’s another distinction McMahon’s rhetoric conveniently steamrolls.

A person can socially transition. That can include things like using a different name, changing pronouns, changing clothing or presenting differently.

Those aren’t medical procedures. Nothing was injected, prescribed, or surgically altered.

If McMahon wants to talk about a teacher calling a student “Sam” instead of “Samantha,” she can say that. If she wants to talk about pronouns, she can say “pronouns.”

If she wants to talk about school records, she can say “school records.” If she wants to talk about communication between schools and parents, she can say exactly that.

Instead, she repeatedly tells parents that schools are secretly “transitioning” children. Those aren’t interchangeable things.

Linda McMahon Knows Better

This is why I’m not calling it a misunderstanding. I’m not calling it an unfortunate choice of words. I’m not calling it an exaggeration.

And I’m not going to bend over backward pretending the United States Secretary of Education simply doesn’t understand how schools or medical care work.

She knows schools cannot secretly prescribe children hormones.

She knows teachers aren’t performing gender-transition surgeries.

She knows a name or pronoun isn’t a medical procedure.

And she has now had plenty of opportunities to use precise language.

Instead, she keeps choosing the frightening one.

Schools.

Secretly.

Transitioning.

Children.

That is designed to scare parents, and more importantly–voters.

And when you repeatedly tell people something that isn’t true, despite having every resource available to know that it isn’t true, there’s a word for that.

It’s a lie.
