504 Plan Information for Parents

The world of 504 plans can be confusing—what do they actually offer, and how do you ensure your child is getting the support they need? Whether you’re exploring a 504 plan for the first time or trying to improve an existing one, this page is packed with the info and tools you need. While I have attended hundreds of IEP meetings, I have attended very few 504 meetings. That is because the process is much different. And the nature of being a Special Education Advocate means that I am most likely to encounter parents who want an IEP for their child, but were only offered a 504 plan.

Still, here are some things to know. And common 504 plan issues I see, from parents who are trying to secure an IEP.
