Where to Watch Fireworks in Chester County and Northern Delaware: 2025 List
Happy Summer! I know it’s early to be talking about July 4 fireworks, but some municipalities do them as early as Memorial Day weekend. I didn’t want any to miss them.
Watching fireworks is on the summer bucket list for many families. But, not every kid enjoys them, and that’s ok too.
Chester County, PA Fireworks
Here is your list of 2025 fireworks for some of the towns in Philadelphia, Chester County and Delaware. (this was originally written during the month of May, several years ago, I update it annually.)

I am happy to be presenting a more robust list than we did for 2020, 21 and 22.
June Fireworks in Chester County
The Saint Josephโs Downingtown Community Festival is scheduled for June 17 through June 21, 2025. The fireworks display is planned for Friday night, June 20, around 9:30 PM, with a rain date of Saturday, June 21.
Upper Uwchlan Township’s 15th Annual Block Party will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM along Route 100 between Byers Road and Park Road/Station Boulevard. The event will feature live music, food vendors, kids’ amusements, and more. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display starting at 9:30 PM.
The 2025 Chester County Balloon Festival is scheduled for June 13, 14, and 15, 2025, once again at Willowdale Steeplechase Grounds in Southern Chester County. As of now, no specific information regarding fireworks has been posted on their official website or social media pages. Itโs best to check their official site or Facebook page as the event date gets closer for the latest updates.
East Goshen Township’s 2025 Community Day is set for Saturday, June 28, kicking off at 5:00 PM at East Goshen Park (1661 Paoli Pike, West Chester, PA). The evening will feature live music by Not Quitting Our Day Jobs, a football fieldโs worth of food trucks, moon bounces, pony rides, a petting zoo, and a JeffSTAT helicopter landing. The night concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over Applebrook Park. Admission is free, and in case of rain, the event will be held on Sunday, June 29.
Coatesville Fireworks
The 2025 Reimagined Strawberry Festival is scheduled for Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7, in Downtown Coatesville. This event is part of the city’s First Friday series and is organized in partnership with the Coatesville Rotary Club. The festival will feature live entertainment, local vendors, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and seasonal treats. While fireworks are not listed among the planned activities, the festival promises a vibrant community celebration.
Downingtown Fireworks
The 2025 Good Neighbor Day in Downingtown is set for Thursday, July 4, at Kerr Park. The day kicks off early with the Run for Life races starting at 8:00 AM, followed by a full slate of family-friendly activities, including the Kids K Fun Run, Big Wheel Race, Brandywine Boat Races, Cornhole Madness, and the Downingtown Has Talent showcase.
The evening concludes with a fireworks display at 9:30 PM. While the event is mostly free to attend, food and vendor items will be available for purchase. Please note that no rain date is listed for the fireworks, and morning road races are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions, which may also apply to the fireworks.
East Goshen Fireworks
Information above, this is a June event.
Exton Fireworks
The 2025 Exton Park Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at Exton Park, located at 132 Church Farm Lane, Exton, PA. The event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including a rock wall, inflatables, zip line, Touch-a-Truck, petting zoo, pony rides, archery, corn hole, disc golf, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and live music by The Slippery Band at 6:30 PM. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display following the concert. The rain date for the event is Sunday, July 13.
Hockessin Parade and Fireworks
The 2025 Hockessin Fourth of July Festival is set for Friday, July 4. Festivities begin at 8:00 AM with the Neighborhood Relays at Piedmont Fields. At 2:30 PM, the “Great American Gut Buster Food Devouring Spectacle” takes place, followed by the parade at 3:00 PM, which runs along Old Lancaster Pike from Kenwick Road to Valley Road. The day concludes with a fireworks display at dusk, visible from various locations including Swift Park, Piedmont Baseball Fields, Hockessin Library, and Artesian Soccer Fields. Please note that the fireworks are scheduled to proceed rain or shine, with no rain date listed.
Kennett Square Fireworks/Longwood Gardens fireworks
Note, to get into Longwood Gardens is NOT free and it always sells out for fireworks.
The 2025 Longwood Gardens Fireworks & Fountains Shows are scheduled as follows:
- Thursday, July 3 at 9:15 PM โ Grand Fanfare
- Saturday, July 19 at 9:15 PM โ Brat Pack Soundtrack: Music from the 80s
- Saturday, August 9 at 9:15 PM โ Boogie Wonderland: Earth, Wind & Fire
Tickets are required and tend to sell out quickly. For non-Fireworks & Fountains ticketholders, last admission is at 2:30 PM, and the Gardens close at 6:00 PM on show days.
While some locals choose to view the fireworks from nearby parking lots, such as the Superfresh (TJMaxx) parking lot, please be aware that this may be considered trespassing on private property. Proceed at your own risk.
Newark, DE Fireworks
The 2025 Newark 4th of July celebration will take place on Friday, July 4, at the University of Delaware Athletic Complex. Festivities begin at 6:00 PM and include live entertainment, art displays, food vendors, and community booths. The evening will culminate with a fireworks display at dusk, typically between 9:00 and 9:30 PM. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Saturday, July 5.
Attendees are encouraged to park in the University of Delaware’s athletic complex lots, including areas around Delaware Stadium, the Bob Carpenter Center, the Woods Lot off Route 4, and the STAR Campus north and south parking lots. Please note that alcohol is not permitted, and it’s advised to leave pets at home, as fireworks can be distressing to animals.
Nottingham/Oxford Fireworks/Herr’s Fireworks
The 2025 Herrโs Freedom Fest is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, at Nottingham County Park in Nottingham, PA. This annual event features family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display.
Event Details:
- Time: 6:00 PM โ 11:00 PM
- Location: Nottingham County Park, 150 Park Road, Nottingham, PA 19362
- Parking: $10 per vehicle at Nottingham County Park and Herrโs Corporate Center. Free shuttle bus service is available from Herrโs Corporate Center parking lot.
- Fireworks: Approximately 9:30 PM.
- Rain Date: Sunday, June 29
- All coolers and bags are subject to search for security purposes.
- The event is free to attend, but food, activities, and parking will incur additional costs.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating.
- Pets, canopies, and smoking are not permitted in the viewing field.
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
Parkesburg Fireworks
The 2025 Parkesburg Fireworks are scheduled to take place on Friday, July 11, at Minch Park, located at 300 West Third Avenue, Parkesburg, PA. This event is held in conjunction with the Keystone Valley Fire Department’s annual fair, which runs from Tuesday, July 8, through Saturday, July 12. The fair operates from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM on Saturday.
Philadelphia Fireworks
Philadelphia–the place where it all began! is offering several different options for fireworks, from July 1-4. Every year is the “Welcome America” festival which has a zillion different options. I am mostly going to focus on the fireworks.
Philadelphia is pulling out all the stops for the 2025 Fourth of July celebrations with the Wawa Welcome America Festival, running from June 19 through July 4. This 16-day extravaganza features free concerts, museum days, block parties, and fireworks displays across the city.

July 4:
- Time: Fireworks begin at 9:30 PM
- Location: Above the Philadelphia Museum of Art, following the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert featuring LL Cool J on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway
June 29:
- Time: Fireworks conclude the Black Music Month concert
- Location: Dell Music Center

- June 19: Juneteenth Block Party at the African American Museum with live music, vendors, and family-friendly activities
- June 20: Kidchella Music Festival at Smith Memorial Playground featuring performances by Ants on a Log and others
- June 26: Hoagie Day at Independence Mall with 25,000 free Wawa Shorti Hoagies and musical performances
- July 4: Salute to Independence Parade along Market Street

Phoenixville Fireworks
I cannot find 2025 information.
Sesame Place Fireworks
There is usually lots of fun stuff at Sesame Place on July 4. However, at the time of this listing, they do not have it on their website yet.
Tredyffrin Township fireworks
The 2025 Tredyffrin Township Fourth of July Celebration is scheduled for Friday, July 4, at Wilson Farm Park, located at 500 Lee Road, Wayne, PA. The event runs from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM, featuring music by Just For Fun DJ Joe Griffith. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a picnic dinner. The fireworks display will begin at dusk. Please note that Wilson Farm Park will be closed until 5:00 PM on July 4 for event setup. Parking and traffic information will be provided closer to the event date.
Uwchlan Township fireworks
The 2024 Uwchlan Township Community Fireworks event is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Lionville Park in Exton, PA. Please note that this year, the event will focus solely on the fireworks display, as other activities such as food trucks, rides, and entertainment have been canceled due to a shortage of volunteers.
West Chester Fireworks
At Brandywine Picnic Park. July 6 from 4-8:30PM. NOT FREE, no rain date listed. Fireworks after park closes. The Brandywine Picnic Park in West Chester, PA, which previously hosted fireworks events, is no longer in operation.
Wilmington, DE Fireworks
The 2025 Wilmington Fourth of July Freedom Celebration will take place on Friday, July 4, at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park, located at 80 Rosa Parks Drive, Wilmington, DE. The festivities begin at 4:00 PM with a variety of free, family-friendly activities, including live music, tours of the historic tall ship Kalmar Nyckel, face painting, and games. Food and merchandise vendors will be available throughout the afternoon and evening.
The celebration will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 PM, choreographed to music by Pyrotecnico. The fireworks will be visible from various locations along the Christina Riverfront. In case of inclement weather, the rain date for the fireworks is Saturday, July 5.
Parking Information:
- Attendees are encouraged to park at any of the many lots around the Orange Street and Market Street areas.
- Take advantage of free parking at the Shipyard Shops, Frawley Stadium, and the Chase Center on the Riverfront.
- Please note that parking at restaurants along the Riverfront is for restaurant patrons only.
- The Margaret Rose Henry (New Sweden) Bridge provides easy access to I-95 North and South, I-495 North and South, and Route 13.
Road Closures:
- Rosa Parks Drive between Market and French streets at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park will be closed beginning at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 4.
- The Market Street Bridge will be closed to pedestrian and motor traffic from 8:00 PM until 10:30 PM.
- A Street from Market Street to Walnut Street will be closed beginning at 8:30 PM.
- All roads exiting from Martin Luther King Boulevard into the Riverfront area, including South Madison Street, Tatnall Street, Market Street, Orange Street, West Street, and Walnut Street, will be closed beginning at 8:30 PM in preparation for the fireworks show.
