Happy Summer! I know it’s early to be talking about July 4 fireworks, but some municipalities do them as early as Memorial Day weekend. I didn’t want any to miss them.
Watching fireworks is on the summer bucket list for many families. But, not every kid enjoys them, and that’s ok too.
Chester County, PA Fireworks
Here is your list of 2024 fireworks for some of the towns in Philadelphia, Chester County and Delaware. (this was originally written during the month of May, several years ago, I update it annually.)
I am happy to be presenting a more robust list than we did for 2020, 21 and 22.
June Fireworks in Chester County
Saint Joseph’s Downingtown Community Festival – Festival runs June 18 through June 22, 2023. Usually the fireworks are scheduled for Friday night starting around 9:30 PM with a rain-date of Saturday.
Upper Uwchlan Township Annual Block Party on Route 100 — Upper Uwchlan Township’s Annual Block Party will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 6-9 pm on Route 100 between Byers Road and Park Road / Station Boulevard. The evening ends with an amazing firework display at dusk.
Chester County Balloon Festival – The 202 Chester County Balloon Festival will be held at Willowdale in Southern Chester County on Father’s Day weekend. Be sure to add June 14th, 15th and 16th to your calendar. The specifics for fireworks are not on their website at the time this list was updated.
East Goshen Township Community Day – June 29 events start at 5PM, Fireworks at Dusk, free.
July 4 Fireworks~Chester County, Philadelphia, Hockessin
Here are the July 4 listings for Fireworks.
Coatesville Fireworks
Coatesville-I cannot find information, besides the Strawberry Festival, which has been canceled.
Downingtown Fireworks
The Good Neighbor Day festivities for the most part are free, food and stuff will cost extra. Kerr Park, all day on July 4, fireworks begin at dusk. No rain date listed for fireworks.
However, for the morning road races it states “Road races subject to cancellation due to weather conditions.” I’d imagine it’s the same for fireworks.
East Goshen Fireworks
Information above, this is a June event.
Exton Fireworks
Sat, Jul 14, 4 PM to dusk. No rain date listed. Fireworks at 9:30PM following concert at Exton’s Miller Park. FREE Rain date is Sunday.
Hockessin Parade and Fireworks
Parade is July 4 at 3 PM, fireworks at dusk. Free. No rain date listed.
Kennett Square Fireworks/Longwood Gardens fireworks
Note, to get into Longwood Gardens is NOT free and it always sells out for fireworks.
However, many families park and sit in the Superfresh (TJMaxx) parking lot or other area lots. I do NOT know if any local shop owners dislike this and consider it trespassing. Do at your own risk.
Newark, DE Fireworks
Says “downtown Newark” and near University. I have heard that you go to the UD stadium. Festivities from 6-10 pm on July 4, free but food and stuff will cost you. No rain date listed. They ask that you park in the various University sports lots–like the stadium and the Bob.
Nottingham/Oxford Fireworks/Herr’s Fireworks
I cannot find the specific information for this annual event. However, in the past, it was NOT FREE, activities and food will cost extra. PARKING will cost extra. At Nottingham County Park. No rain date listed. Keep checking the Herr’s website for details.
Parkesburg Fireworks
In conjunction with the Keystone Valley Fire Department Fair, held Tuesday thru Saturday. Fireworks scheduled for dusk on July 8. I cannot find a listing.
Philadelphia Fireworks
Philadelphia–the place where it all began! is offering several different options for fireworks, from July 1-4.
Phoenixville Fireworks
I cannot find information for 2024. Same information as previous years.
Sesame Place Fireworks
There is usually lots of fun stuff at Sesame Place on July 4. However, at the time of this listing, they do not have it on their website yet.
Tredyffrin Township fireworks
Tuesday, July 4th, 2023: 7:15pm to 9:15pm, Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. Wilson Farm Park..
Uwchlan Township fireworks
I cannot find a listing for 2024.
West Chester Fireworks
At Brandywine Picnic Park. July 6 from 4-8:30PM. NOT FREE, no rain date listed. Fireworks after park closes. This park is no longer in business.
Wilmington, DE Fireworks
Sunday July 4, dusk at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park.
