After preparing this blog post, I plan to go back to the Google Play store and get some of these apps for myself. I can be scatterbrained, and stress makes it worse. And now having two kids, with their own schedules and sets of things to remember, it’s no wonder I feel like my brain is too full.
Apps for Executive Functioning
I tend to be an old-fashioned, pen and paper gal, and only this year traded in my paper planner for Google Calendar. I have just fallen in love with the syncing features.
If you or your child/student struggles with some executive functioning skills, here are some apps that might help them.

I just want to explain, before you hit this list. I had to remove the hyperlinks to the apps. Every time an app developer updates their app, and changes it either on iTunes or the Google Play Store, it breaks the link in the post.
I was constantly searching and hunting down these executive functioning apps, because they did not redirect the dead links.
So at a certain point, I just have to stop. Here are the recommendations, and you can find them on your favorite app store.
Also, yes, you can get an app added as an accommodation to your IEP. If your child has IEP goals for executive functioning skills, it makes sense that they would need the support or accommodation of an app.
This list is for older students, like middle school and up. Once a child reaches middle school or high school and beyond, demands increase. While younger children absolutely may lack executive functioning skills, they often lack the maturity to manage the skill deficits with an app.
Reminder Apps for Executive Function Deficits

With its extremely simple-to-use interface and a comprehensive and flexible set of powerful features, it lets you focus on what’s most important to you: your life. There is no wrong way of using 2Do, and unlike other to-do apps, it won’t force you in adhering to a particular task management methodology.
