Why IEP Parents Should Never Agree to the “Let’s just Wait and See”

"Let's Just Wait and See" is one of the most effective stall tactics when a parent asks for something on the IEP. From here on out, if you hear "Let's just wait and see" at an IEP meeting, I want you to reject that solution. Every single time.

Why “Wait and See” should be rejected

1. Go with your gut. A mom’s gut instincts are rarely wrong. 2. There is nothing to be gained by waiting. 3. When a parent brings up a concern at an IEP meeting, they didn't just witness that concern for the very first time that morning. This has likely already been going on for quite a while, they just waited until the team was together to bring it up.
