Advocate’s Tip:  These Few Short Sentences on your Child’s IEP Could Prevent Suspensions

There is something you can do, as a parent, to be proactive and help avoid these unfortunate misunderstandings. Important items that must be on your child's IEP. There are two sides to every story, and there are always going to be two sides of every story. 

In many schools, one student hitting another is considered an infraction that warrants an instant suspension. You can also ask to have it put in as part of a behavior plan or crisis plan.
