23 Accommodations to Include in your 504 Plan for Food Allergies

504 Plans for isolated food allergies are completely appropriate and warranted. Too often, 504 plans are used as a stalling tactic when a child truly needs an IEP. They were never intended to be an "IEP Lite" and should be seen as an extension of the Individual Education Plan. 

Email your child's IEP team during back to school time. Ask that this letter be included with back-to-school materials. Letter should include a request that all students and parents refrain from sending/bringing any (list the allergen products/foods) into the school or to any school-related activities.
