One of the best things about this time of year is the availability of stimmy toys! Am I right?
Halloween, Christmas and New Year’s just seems to bring such a wide assortment of toys that smell, make noise, feel funky or light up.
Kevin only has 3 or 4 classmates, so we do exchange gifts. But, even if his class was larger, some of the items at Oriental Trading Company are so affordable, you could get something for everyone. Most of these items are right around one dollar, and is what I’m getting for Kevin’s classmates. Shhh, don’t tell them!
One of the other things that I like about Oriental Trading Company, is that most of their items you purchase by the dozen. Makes it very easy to buy for a class or group, and you can mix and match that way so that not everyone gets the same items in their goody bag.
Here are the items that I chose:
flashing snowballs- 19.99 per dozen, these look like they also have a funky texture, so they will be tactile and visual
snowballs plush flashing- 13.98 per dozen, these look the same as above, but they have faces. Kevin likes to look at animated faces so I chose them.
snowman foam putty-8.99 per dozen, this is a tactile item, I just hope that they kids will touch it!
mini noise putty-9.99 per dozen, it appears that they have to manipulate these a certain way to get it to make the noise, I hope Kevin and his friends can figure it out. Then again, his teacher will likely be hoping that they can’t, ha ha.
Those are the items that I chose, all of them can be found in the stocking stuffer section of Oriental Trading. And here are some of the items that I considered but didn’t get. They are shown above in the collage.
Snowman cow bell-adorable!
Light up Santa ring-I didn’t think that the kids would wear them.
Sticky snowman splat balls- I didn’t think it was a good idea to have something in the classroom that encourages throwing.
