Goodwill Costumes

You know who I really dislike around Halloween time? Heidi Klum. Every year she gets all this press about her fabulous costume idea. Then, the story will go on to tell you that she spent many hours in a makeup chair with professional theater/stage makeup artists.

Is that really a Halloween costume? I mean, yeah, mine would be fantastic too if I had an unlimited budget and access to the best costumes and makeup artists.

Us common folk don’t have that. But, we do have Goodwill.

I’ll be the first to admit, that mid to late October, I have been known to hop online and order a costume. Ugh! $40, really? For something they wear for about 4 hours, 2 at school and 2 at home?

Give me a break.

And so often, you hear Gen Xers like myself say, “Hmph, when I was a kid, we had to make our costumes.” We did! And we loved it.
