Hard to believe, but this blog is 6 1/2 years old! Ack! And confession time: Writing about IEPs for 6 1/2 years (almost 1500 posts), lobbying for disability rights and the related stuff…it can be downright depressing and mind-numbing at times.
Over the years I’ve tried balancing it out with various posts on Fridays. I choose Fridays because traditionally Friday is a day when most people need a break and some good news. I’ve tried freebies, educational freebies, feel good stories about disabilities…and they’ve all done well over time.
Now, I’m just making it totally generic–just good stuff, fun stuff.
Tune in on Fridays for a mix of all of the above–cool freebies, good news, just overall light hearted fun stuff to get your weekend started.
This was in my Facebook feed and I just had to share for two reasons. One is that it is local to a significant portion of our reader base, so they may be interested. The other reason is, if it’s not local to you, you may want to research the idea and make it happen for you.

In case you’re looking for a little splurge, but of course remaining frugal.
And I’ll end with a Friday Freebie:
NLS is a free braille and talking book library service for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical disability that prevents them from reading or holding the printed page. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS offers books the way you want them: in braille or audio formats, mailed to your door for free, or instantly downloadable.
Have a great weekend!
