Fun site

I am just putting the final touches on all the holiday gifts I’ve purchased–the wrapping, the cards, all that stuff. Of course, first I had to sit down and divvy it all up. Team K consists of a teacher, two classroom aides, a BSC and a TSS, one OT, two PTs, one Vision teacher, one SLP,  and one O&M teacher. His team has gotten much bigger this year and we’re glad for it, but…..whew! And of course he has 7 classmates and a bus driver–don’t want to leave them out, right?

Some of you know that I run a coupon blog, so I’m always on the hunt for deals and ways to save money. And when you have as many gifts to buy as we do, I really NEED to save money or I wouldn’t be able to buy. I also subscribe to a philosophy of “shopping in reverse.” That means, instead of waiting until Christmas time and then having to shop, I do it in reverse. In my purse, I have a list of all the gifts I ever buy during the course of a year. Then, when I find a really good deal on something, I don’t have to think “Yeah, it’s a great price, but what would I do with it?” Instead, I whip out my list, and see if I can apply this great bargain to a gift-giving opportunity.

One spot I’ve started to use recently is nomorerack. They are another daily deal site of sorts, but they sell and sometimes give away closeout items. Yes, you read that correctly, sometimes they give them away. The assortment changes every day, and when you get the email, check the time of when the deal is going to go live–because the free stuff goes very quickly! What else I like about some of the stuff they sell really cheap or give away for free–many times is the cheap, plastic, junky, tchotzky kind of toys–toys that most people would think maybe they don’t want. But if it lights up and sparkles, that’s the kind of stuff my son loves! Noisemakers? We’re in! And at their prices, I don’t care when he breaks them or loses them. Plus, then we have extra toys for the car, or for my purse.

Just as an fyi, I have heard rumors about a nomorerack scam, but I’ve never had anything but positive experiences with them. One of the moms who writes for me on my other blog, she also orders from there and I don’t think she’s ever had a problem.  There are nomorerack reviews you can read online before you decide to sign up.
